About Brasswood Estate

Brasswood Estate is a multi-use destination on Highway 29 in St. Helena that combines a tasting room, restaurant, bakery, and event space into a campus-style property that offers one of the most complete food-and-wine experiences on the highway. Founded in 2015, the estate occupies 22 acres of vineyard and a beautifully designed complex of buildings that house the various operations. The concept recognizes that modern wine country visitors want more than just a tasting flight; they want a complete experience that includes food, shopping, and the social atmosphere of a vibrant gathering place.

The 22-acre estate vineyard provides fruit for the Brasswood wine program, with additional fruit sourced from premium Napa Valley growers to supplement the estate production. The St. Helena location provides warm growing conditions ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, and the estate also grows Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is managed as part of the larger campus, creating a visual connection between the vines and the food-and-wine experiences housed in the surrounding buildings.

Winemaker Jake Estep produces a portfolio that is designed to complement the restaurant's culinary program. The Cabernet Sauvignon is well-structured and food-friendly, the Chardonnay is barrel-fermented with restraint, and the Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and aromatic. The wines are polished and approachable, reflecting the estate's focus on the complete dining and tasting experience rather than cellar-worthy collectibility.

The campus-style property includes the tasting room, the Brasswood Bar and Kitchen restaurant, a bakery, and various retail spaces. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu that pairs with the estate wines, and the bakery produces breads and pastries that many visitors take home alongside their wine purchases. The outdoor spaces, including a courtyard and garden areas, create a social atmosphere that encourages lingering. Walk-in visitors are welcome, and the $50 tasting fee includes the wine flight.

Brasswood demonstrates the evolution of the Napa Valley tasting room from a simple bar into a comprehensive lifestyle destination. The combination of wine, food, and social space creates an experience that appeals to visitors who want their wine country visit to be about more than just tasting. The campus model, where multiple experiences coexist on a single property, may represent the future of Napa Valley hospitality.
